Left 4 Dead (Video Games) - prefer as setting, but surprise me

As the setting: Characters being transported into a game world zombie apocalypse where they have to reach the evacuation site or die in the process. Alternatively, the world the characters live in has become a zombie apocalypse. There is no need to use L4D canonical events, just the zombie apocalypse setting will do (infection is airborne instead of being transmitted by bodily fluids, survivors are oblivious asymptomatic carriers of the infection, and there are Special Infected with special abilities). Given the fandoms requested, would prefer if the characters are shown to be the well-trained BAMFs they are and deviate from 'normalcy'.
